Choose the shape of your New Year’s Eve before choosing the city. A show that carries you through midnight, an afternoon concert followed by dinner, and an outdoor city celebration ask different things of a trip. For 31 December 2026, Rome, Venice and Naples offer three useful starting points.
Make the evening’s main appointment your anchor. Map its location against the accommodation, settle dinner around it and work out the return journey. Then use the rest of the stay to enjoy the city, leaving enough room for a slower morning on 1 January.

These are different kinds of plan. Rome and Venice have the named performances below; Naples’ outdoor celebrations are planned, with the final artists and access arrangements to check before choosing a particular event. Check the current event pages before buying tickets or arranging travel around a particular performer. A published performance time does not establish seat availability, a restaurant reservation or a late-night transport service.
Rome: an indoor countdown in EUR
Enrico Brignano’s Speciale Capodanno is scheduled at the Palazzo dello Sport on 31 December 2026 at 21:30, with a midnight toast. A second performance is scheduled for 1 January 2027 at 18:00. The show is produced by Vivo Concerti and Enry B; use the official event information and the producer’s page for the current arrangements.
Consider this option if Italian stage comedy appeals to your group and you want the countdown built into the evening’s main event. The Palazzo dello Sport is in EUR, so give its location a real place in your accommodation and dinner decisions. Venice: an afternoon at La Fenice
The New Year’s Concert 2027 at Teatro La Fenice brings together the theatre’s orchestra and choir, conducted by Gianandrea Noseda. The 31 December performance begins at 16:00. The other announced dates are 29 December at 20:00, 30 December at 17:00 and 1 January at 11:15. Choose the date you intend to attend on the theatre’s event page.
The afternoon performance can give a Venice stay a clear centre while leaving dinner as a separate choice. Reserve that meal for a place and time that work after the concert; ask the restaurant about its actual New Year’s Eve menu and sitting. Settle your later plans separately from the theatre ticket.

Public celebrations are planned for Piazza del Plebiscito and Lungomare Caracciolo across 30 December 2026–1 January 2027. The planned format includes music and comedy in the piazza and events on the waterfront. Check the final city programme for artists, timings and access arrangements before choosing a particular event.
Choose Naples if the city break itself is the attraction: time in its streets, a meal you have arranged and room to add a public celebration once its details suit your plans. For an outdoor plan, leave yourself an indoor alternative and a workable route home. Decide where your group will meet before heading out, and carry the details of the room and dinner booking. Treat any programme found for the previous New Year as a past edition; its performers and arrangements belong to that year.
Dinner, the toast and the next morning
Ask a restaurant for the menu of the exact evening you want to book. Confirm the sitting, what is included and whether the meal has a fixed finishing time before combining it with a performance. A dinner booking and an event ticket need their own confirmations.
