The market town of the Val Pusteria, Bruneck in German, gathered beneath a medieval bishop's castle in eastern South Tyrol.
Its arcaded main street serves as the base for Plan de Corones (Kronplatz), the broad ski mountain that crowns the surrounding valleys.
