Montefalco Sagrantino is a red wine made solely from Sagrantino, in dry and passito styles.
The two red styles share a grape and aging framework, with different production details.
Both styles require at least 33 months of aging from December 1 of the grape-production year, followed by at least four further months in bottle. Only the dry style must spend at least 12 of those aging months in oak.
