Wine of the caves

The name points to the grottini, the natural cellars in which local families kept their wine.

The red is 60 to 85% Sangiovese, blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Malvasia Nera di Basilicata and Montepulciano, each between 5 and 30%. The rosé follows the same recipe. The white is at least 80% Malvasia bianca di Basilicata.

Cave-matured Riserva

The Riserva may be sold only after 36 months of maturation in a cave, counted from the November after harvest.
