Wine from the land of the Pentri

The name looks back to the ancient Pentri people of the Molise mountains.

The red pairs Montepulciano with a quarter or so of Tintilia, giving a rounded red with a local accent. The white is mostly Falanghina, softened with Trebbiano Toscano. Vineyards sit on well-exposed hillsides, none above 600 metres.

Oak and time

The red is aged for a year, at least six months of it in oak. The Riserva stays four years before release, two of them in oak, followed by bottle ageing.

The Isernia hills

The grape zone covers seventeen communes of Isernia province, among them Isernia, Agnone, Pietrabbondante, Venafro and Pozzilli.
