Stefano Bemer

A shoemaking house shaped by its founder’s Florence workshop, a distinct 2013 chapter and the methods the maker describes.

A founder’s first workshop

In the company’s account, Stefano Bemer’s route into shoemaking began with repair work. Courses and workshops followed; in 1983 he opened his own workshop in Florence. The date belongs to the founder’s story, the starting point the house itself chooses for its shoemaking narrative.1,2

A new chapter in 2013

The present house marks 2013 as a new chapter: a continuation of the founder’s legacy, expressed under the Stefano Bemer name on a broader stage. Its own chronology makes room for both the individual workshop that came first and the later shape of the house.2

Construction as a design choice

Stefano Bemer describes hand-lasted, hand-welted Goodyear as its elective construction. The same account reserves Norwegian and Storm Welt for some more casual shoes and boots, and Blake for a low-profile sole. Read together, these methods point to different design intentions rather than a single construction assigned to every pair.3
