Bois 1920 connects its Florence-based family story to a modern fragrance label, a catalogue organized into distinct collections and the published profile of Sushi Imperiale.
Florence and the story behind Spigo
Bois 1920 places its family history in Florence, where Guido Galardi began experimenting with fragrance formulas in a small workshop during the 1920s. The company connects that work to spigo, the lavender gathered on the surrounding hills, and to essential oils, scented solutions and perfumed sachets. Its present label carries the name Bottega Italiana Spigo 1920, recalling the Florentine workshop.1,2
A family name returned
Guido Galardi’s Florence workshop begins the family story. In a March 2019 interview, Mauro Galardi recalled that workshop and described the Bois 1920 marque’s return to Galardi family ownership in February 2018. The family sought to preserve the perfumery heritage Guido had started, while guiding the name through a new chapter.3
A house arranged through collections
The Bois 1920 catalogue groups personal fragrances under named collections, including Classici, Orientali, Oro and Limited Art. Its shop navigation also separates home fragrances and body lotions. The collection names help a reader find a way into the personal scents before exploring the house’s other formats.4
