Kartell Componibili Classic

A round 32 cm storage unit offered in fixed two-, three- and four-element configurations.

The Componibili line dates to 1967, while Anna Castelli Ferrieri’s round version dates to 1969. The current Classic format is 32 cm in diameter, with fixed configurations built as single structures rather than user-reconfigurable modules.

Two dates, two design milestones

The Componibili line began in 1967; Anna Castelli Ferrieri’s round version dates to 1969. The familiar circle therefore belongs to a later chapter of the design’s history than the line’s first date.1,2,3,4

A compact circular format

The current Componibili Classic is 32 cm in diameter and is offered in fixed two-, three- or four-element configurations. The choice of element count lets the unit offer more or less vertical storage while keeping the same circular footprint.1,2

Configurations built as one unit

Classic’s elements are joined as a single structure: Kartell says the modules cannot be separated or modified. The two-, three- and four-element options describe fixed compositions, not a set of pieces to rearrange later.1,2

A base that sits directly on the floor

The Classic base is designed for direct placement on the floor and does not take wheels. When planning a room, that makes it a fixed storage element to place where its compact footprint and vertical capacity are useful.1,2

This is a comparison of assembly principles, not of interchangeable furniture. For Classic, decide the required vertical storage before choosing the version. Adding a separate tower later is different from adding a removable layer to the existing one. The fixed construction also explains why the current product’s name should not be treated as an assembly instruction.1,5
