Seletti: Everyday Objects, Reimagined

From Cicognara in 1964 to design projects that join familiar forms, art and visual wit.

A guide to Seletti’s approach, from Estetico Quotidiano to Monkey Lamp and Toiletpaper Home.

A design company from Cicognara

Seletti began its work in Cicognara, in Mantua province, in 1964. Its collections bring art into conversation with familiar objects, form and function.1,2

Everyday forms, remade

Estetico Quotidiano turns a small bottle’s familiar disposable-container outline into a borosilicate-glass design object. Alessandro Zambelli designed the piece; its changed material and setting make an everyday silhouette newly visible.1,2,3

The Monkey Lamp and visual wit

Designed by Marcantonio, the seated Monkey Lamp turns an animal figure into a resin table lamp. The recognizable silhouette keeps the figure at the centre of the object’s design.4
