Founded in Florence in 1990, Lorenzo Villoresi’s house brings a perfumer’s study of materials into an in-house fragrance practice. Its hexagonal bottle, Via de’ Bardi boutique, museum and published scent profiles each offer a way into that work.
A perfumer’s house founded in Florence
Lorenzo Villoresi founded his Florence perfume house in 1990, after a philosophy degree and years spent travelling, studying raw materials and making bespoke fragrances. The house traces some of those encounters to the Middle East, where Villoresi learned about essences and regional perfume traditions. His path into perfumery began with study and custom work before becoming a house under his name.1,2
Creation and production under one roof
Villoresi’s official profile says the house has overseen the full making of its fragrances since its beginnings and still produces them in-house. The hexagonal bottle became a recognizable feature of its collections. The production practice and the bottle are two distinct parts of the house’s identity.1,2
