Roero rosso
- Minimum
- 20 months, including 6 in wood

Roero DOCG includes Nebbiolo-led reds and Arneis-led whites, with a sparkling Arneis style too.
The Roero’s red wines follow the sunny sides of a changing hill landscape.
Roero’s red wines have Nebbiolo as their principal grape. On the left bank of the Tanaro, vineyard hills carry alternating layers of sand, clay and limestone, mixed in different proportions from place to place. The red-wine vineyards favor the southern exposures. The striking rocche, the area’s steep eroded formations, belong to the same geological landscape.
These red-wine aging minimums begin November 1 of the grape-harvest year. White and sparkling styles have separate rules.

The grape area includes all of Canale, Corneliano d’Alba, Piobesi d’Alba and Vezza d’Alba, together with specified parts of neighboring municipalities in Cuneo province.
