La storia
The Savoys rebuilt this fortress across three tiers of rock after Napoleon, furious that its garrison had stalled his army for two weeks in 1800, razed the original. Glass lifts now climb to the Museum of the Alps and to exhibition halls that draw shows worthy of Turin or Milan.
